What is our MISSION?
The Voice of Business moves forward with one goal: to be the source of the best new ideas and guidance for those involved in creating, leading, and transforming business. Since its inception in 2007, VoB has been bridging the gap between campuses and corporate for students as well as has been bringing into light the key issues faced by executives and new entrants in the corporate world.

What is our CONTENT?
Each issue of the VOB is being designed in a manner which includes articles from a wide range of areas that are relevant to different jobs, industries, management functions, and business environment. Areas like leadership, entrepreneurship, organizational behavior, negotiation, strategy formulation, operations, marketing, finance & Investment, and managing people are the common focus of the magazine. However even in these topics only cutting edge and fresh contents are presented. Besides these aforementioned topics articles on several non-conventional issues and business opportunities make up the contents of the Voice of Business. There are no limitations regarding the topic we feature as long as it is relevant to business and any variable connected to it.

Who are our READERS?
Our magazine is mainly centered on the students of business administration, corporate job aspirants, new entrants in the corporate sector, entrepreneurs and to be entrepreneurs, managers and executives.

Who can WRITE for VOB?
These insightful articles are the products of a lot of study, research work and analytical thinking undertaken by the writers. The articles are being put up by a range of writers which includes the Editorial panel themselves, Students of the Faculty of Business Studies as well as other departments/Universities, Faculty members employees and managers from the corporate sector. However every work is subject to scrutiny before being cleared for publishing to ensure these meet the VoB standards.


Guidelines for submission of articles/outlines of articles:
When evaluating an article, two factors would help it make the cut: 1) Fresh Thinking 2) Compelling & engaging content. Besides the following writing guidelines must be followed for the article to be considered for publishing:

- Topics relevant to different industries and management functions in Bangladesh
- Topics related to business or economics like domestic business, international business, new business prospects, capital market, FDI, trade policy, marketing strategy, HRM, business ethics, monetary system, business plan, CSR, CG, faculty news, operation strategy, micro and macro-economy, trade theories etc.
- Experiences of real business owners, business thoughts & ideas.
- Feature on entrepreneurs, small business owners, executives at mid-size companies, as well as those aspiring to start a business
- Reports on news & views of the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka and prospects of this faculty and the students, etc.
- Skills for Career development
- New trends or burning issues in the field of business/ economics/ education
- Open letters suggesting any change which may improve the system of this Magazine.

Voice of Business (VoB) has unveiled its 7th issue on 28thMarch, 2016 in the presence of noted personalities.

VoB is the largest student run publication of the country founded in May, 2007 by the students of eight departments of the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka. VoB focuses on stories that provide students with a broader understanding of business leadership, industry innovation, corporate communication, international perspectives and career track advice from professionals.

The Voice of Business Team 2016

Dr. Debapriya Bhattacharya, Distinguished Fellow of Center for Policy Dialogueone of the honorable guests of the ceremony said “Bangladesh is a very young country where 70% of our population now born after 1971. We have a great ‘Demographic Dividend’. In a country young like this, if we can use these youths as resources and produce not only great degrees but also great minds, we can go neck by neck with the leading countries”.Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin, Treasurer of University of Dhaka was also present at the unveiling ceremony. The Dean of FBS Prof. Dr. Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam attended the program and said to prepare the students up to the international standard. He wanted to emphasize on the building the knowledge level of the students. The special guest Ishtiaq Ahmed, CEO of Omera Petroleum Ltd was also present. He encouraged the students to take part in extra-curricular activities alongside studies.

In the second session of the day, there was a seminar about Entrepreneurship. Some of the intellectual minds of Bangladesh shared their views about the challenges and opportunities in the path of this journey.Minhaz Ahmed, founder of Better Stories Bangladesh, FahadIfaz, M4P Project Lead in Myanmar | Private sector and Market Development (M4P) Consultant andFerdousMottakin, Founder, VISA Thing were the speakers of this session.

 Followed by the unveiling ceremony VoB has planned 4 days long events including seminars (leadership, women empowerment (day-2), youth carnival (day-3) and case competition (day-4). “VoB Week-2016” will come to an end with an event participated by former and current VoB members on 31st March. Different youth organizations such as- BYLC, SBYA, Jaago Foundation, Community Action, Action Aid and BASIS will participate in the youth carnival.

The Voice of Business Team - 2016

In the second day of the “VoB Week-2016”, there was a seminar about Women leadership. Some of the intellectual minds of Bangladesh shared their views about the challenges and opportunities in the path of this journey. Zara Mahbub, Head of Communication and Service quality, Professor Dr. MehtabKhanam,renowned counselor, Najia Andaleeb Preema, Director of Bangladesh Brand Forum and JesminEhsan, CFO of Ericson Bangladesh were the speakers of this session. The speakers provided insights on women leadership in business industry in Bangladesh and combining passion into corporate world. Dr. MehtabKhanam focused on the need of women to stand up for them.

Every year in search of unique and out of the box thoughts Voice of Business put together distinguished people from different industry of the industry and assesses their thoughts in the magazine. Throughout its journey the VoB has been receiving overwhelming response from the business community as well as from students.
